DESCRIPTION: Length up to 4mm. A tiny little Lacebug with beautiful ornamentation, these little delights are whitish-grey to creamy brown/white in colour with numerous darker scribblings. The antennae are brown with a darker tip with the 4th segment broader than the 3rd. There are four rows on meshes at the margins of the pronotum and forewings and these little insects are usually covered in white powdery deposits made of wax. BEHAVIOUR: A secretive little scurrier that is easily overlooked but found when sweep-netting. Ovewintering tends to take place at the base of grasses. DISTRIBUTION: Resident and common. HABITAT: A common enough species in fields, hedgerows and rough areas where the hostplant Creeping Thistle is found. PERIOD: Can be seen all year round but best looked for during the summer months.
